BMS Spellers Shine!

posted Feb 5, 2016, 8:29 PM by Muriel Hall
What an exciting spelling bee it was! The audience listened intently as their grade-level representatives flawlessly spelled such words as “curries,” “bracketed,” and “emergence.” After twenty-eight rounds, Aiden Fisher, grade 7, edged out sixth grader and runner-up Katherine Lessardby spelling “manor” and “unicycle” correctly, becoming the 2016 Ives Spelling Bee Champion.

As the school-level winner, Aiden advances directly to the NH State Spelling Bee, which will be held on Saturday, February 27, at the Capitol Center for the Arts in Concord. There she will compete against 200 of the state’s top spellers. Good luck, Aiden!

Congratulations to all participants; they were impressive spellers indeed!
