Red Ribbon Week kicked off on Monday, October 26. The week was filled with positive messages that highlighted the importance of healthy choices and healthy living. Students were asked to participate in a variety of themed days such as, “Be a JEAN-IUS” (wear jeans), “I’m too BRIGHT for drugs” (wear bright colors), and “I have the POWER to be DRUG FREE” (wear super hero cape/shirt). Sgt. Lougee visited all the lunches to play a trivia game of MYTH or FACT, increasing awareness on the effects of drugs and the importance of staying drug free.
Dress Red Day and Student Council’s Autumn Fest Assembly ended the week and provided another great reminder to students that having fun, making connections with peers, and feeling connected to their school are excellent deterrents to drugs.
